Storm brewing over the Pedernal;Cerro Pedernal (El. 9862 feet (3006 meters)) & Lake Abiquiu, The Pedernal, Spanish for "flint hill", is a narrow mesa on the north flank of the Jemez Mountains, in the Española Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest. Its caprock was produced in the Jemez Volcanic Field. NM
